Alumni Weekend

Alumni Weekend, a Bethel tradition, is a time for alumni to return to campus on Commencement weekend – to reminisce, see the campus as it is now, visit with the president and retired faculty and staff and relive memories. The 2010 Alumni Weekend is scheduled for May 21-23.

Activities for alumni begin Friday evening, with an opening meal, tours and an ice cream social. On Saturday are a breakfast for reunion participants and retired faculty and staff, at which the current year’s alumni award recipients share memories and appreciation for Bethel and wisdom from life experience.

The president hosts a mid-morning coffee at Goerz House for class members observing 50 years or more since graduation. Those in younger classes are invited to mingle over coffee in Schultz Student Center.

Luncheons for classes celebrating their 40th, 45th, 50th, 55th or 60th anniversary are also on Saturday, plus a “Heritage Class” luncheon for those observing a 65th, 70th or 75th class anniversary.

Optional activities – including the nursing program’s pinning ceremony – are available in the afternoon. Alumni Weekend closes with the annual Alumni Banquet in the evening, where the Awards Committee officially recognizes the alumni honorees.

Some participants stay through Sunday, to participate in the Baccalaureate service and Commencement ceremonies that close the school year.
